ABOUT JENNY LYON

Award – winning Atlanta portrait artist Jenny Lyon creates classical fine art paintings and drawings. She specializes in oil portraits of children.

 

Jenny has a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Georgia.  She graduated magna cum laude from Davidson College with Honors in Art and a double major in English.

 

She has studied abroad extensively in Italy, France, England, and New Zealand and has spent extensive time studying in the Louvre in Paris, National Gallery in London, Uffizi in Florence, and Vatican Museums in Rome.

 

Jenny has worked with children and teens all her life.  She teaches school and lives in the Atlanta area with her family.   In addition to regularly participating in national and local juried exhibitions, she has had several solo exhibitions, most recently at the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Each human face is a miracle, an incarnation.

Each child is a gift, fearfully and wonderfully made.

Each pet is a best friend, a beloved companion.

Through my portraits I try to echo a sense of the soul before me, of his or her innate dignity, grace, beauty.

Each work strives to fix the evanescent moment in the timelessness of memory.
